Mission Statement
The Madison County Prosecutor’s Office Victim Assistance Program works persistently to provide consistent and compassionate, trauma-informed advocacy services to all victims of crime. Victim assistants work to enforce victims’ rights, educate, and empower individuals to make informed decisions; while promoting resilience and recovery both amidst their interaction with the criminal justice system, and as their lives progress post victimization.​
Vision Statement
Our vision is to promote true justice through services rendered and support of successful prosecution of violent offenders; while continually educating the victims we serve, our local law enforcement, members of our criminal justice system, and all Madison County residents. Doing so, will ensure victims are the primary focus of the criminal justice system and ultimately aid in offender accountability, and an overall reduction in crime.​
Madison County Prosecutor’s Office Victim Assistance Program provides the following services:
- Notification of crime victims’ rights
- Notification of criminal proceedings
- Assistance with voicing opinions and input to prosecution
- Accompaniment to criminal proceedings, meetings with the prosecutor, depositions, and jury trial
- Notification of plea agreements
- Assistance with restitution and compensation
- Assistance with impact statements
- Assistance with no contact order requests
- Referrals to therapy and other social service providers
- Spanish-Speaking victim services

Indiana Department of Correction SAVIN Program
The Indiana SAVIN program is a free, automated service that provides crime victims with vital information and notification 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This service will allow you to obtain offender information and to register for notification of a change in offender status, such as offender release.
All registrations through Indiana SAVIN are kept completely confidential.
The National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) has created the VictimConnect Resource Center, which is a place for victims of all crime to learn about their rights and options—confidentially and compassionately. VictimConnect can be accessed anywhere in the United States through a traditional telephone-based helpline and innovative text and online chat services Monday through Friday. Services are available in English and Spanish and interpreters for more than 200 languages can be accessed. Victim assistance specialists help people who reach out find appropriate national, local, or online resources. Additionally, VictimConnect has information regarding types of crime, crime statistics, and maintains a searchable online directory for crime victim service providers.
