Madison County HTCU

Madison County High Tech Crime Unit

Madison County hosts one of ten HTCUs in the State of Indiana.  The Madison County HTCU is a partnership between the Madison County Prosecutor's Office, the Anderson Police Department, and Anderson University.  Although physically based in Madison County, HTCU actually serves 5 Indiana counties: Hamilton, Hancock, Johnson, Madison, and Shelby.

Madison County HTCU specializes in retrieving and processing digital evidence in criminal cases. While the HTCU is equipped to support all types of criminal investigations and prosecutions, much of its focus falls on "ICAC" type cases (referring to the Department of Justice's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force). Further information on the ICAC task force can be found here.

An HTCU staff member is on call for law enforcement 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sworn officers from any of our affiliated counties' law enforcement agencies may visit the Law Enforcement Portal for additional information on HTCU capabilities, on-call contact numbers, or other information.
