Mekhi McWilliams Sentenced to 39 Years for Offenses Including Dealing

On September 23, 2024, Judge Angela Warner Sims sentenced Mekhi McWilliams to an aggregate sentence of 39 years with 35 years to be served at the Indiana Department of Correction and 4 years to be served on formal probation.
On August 19, 2024, McWilliams pleaded guilty in three criminal cases which included counts of:
Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 6 felony;
Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun with a Prior Felony Conviction, a Level 5 felony;
Dealing in a Narcotic Drug, a Level 5 felony;
Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 felony;
Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony;
Dealing in Cocaine, a Level 2 felony;
Dealing in a Narcotic Drug, a Level 2 felony;
Dealing in a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance, a Level 2 felony;
Dealing in Marijuana, a Level 6 felony; and
Dealing in a Controlled Substance, a Level 6 felony.
The State's case was presented by Deputy Prosecutor Jennifer Haley. The cases were investigated by Det. Tyler McKeon of the Anderson Police Department, Captain Eric Holtzleiter of the Alexandria Police Department, and Sgt. Cody Anderson of the Alexandria Police Department.
